Our Mission
Marshmelodrama Productions seeks to place Jesus Christ “Center Stage” in the lives of youth and adults to encourage them to use their gifts in life long ministry. While reaching out to others in the name of Jesus, our community of actors build social skills, team work, and a love for the arts through entertainment in theatre.
In our spring and fall productions we provide homeschool students in grades 1-12 an opportunity to participate in dramatic and musical theater and to develop as young confident performers on stage.
The evening that a heroine, in a Melodrama play out west, waved from the stage to a 10 year old Diane, she knew that she wanted to become an actress. Working to overcome her shyness and fear of being in front of others, Diane acted in high school plays, acting classes, and community theater. Since falling in love with Jesus at the age of 26, she had been acting and directing plays and musicals for churches and schools. Diane had a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a concentration in Theater and a Masters in Early Childhood Education.
Marshmelo Productions (as it was named at first) was dreamed up by Diane and a friend of hers in college and in the fall of 2010, her dream became a reality with the first Marshmelo production, “Anne of Green Gables.” Through many productions, camps, and workshops, Diane enjoyed sharing her love for the arts with a variety of ages, especially youth.
Sadly, we lost our beloved founder and director, Ms. Diane, on February 18th of 2019. After a long and difficult battle with leukemia she was called home to be with her Lord Jesus. She encouraged us to “Dream Big and Persevere all for His Glory” and to lift each other up with words of encouragement not tear each other down. She was loved by so many. She will always live on in the hearts and memories of her two children, Josh and Annie, the rest of her family, friends, and her Marshmelo family. We miss her dearly but we know that she directs our productions from above. Although she is no longer with us, we are honoring her wish for Marshmelodrama Productions to keep going, to keep dreaming, and to keep Jesus as Center Stage.
Among all the wonderful gifts that Diane left us was her original play “Come to the Table” set to the music of JJ Heller which debuted in 2018.
